William J. Herbert, 62, passed away peacefully in his home on Wednesday, June 20, 2012.
A resident of Skillman, and formerly of Milltown, he was an avid sportsman who enjoyed the outdoors, especially skiing, hiking and boating. Family was all-important to Bill and their best times were spent at Pico Mountain in Vermont and at the Jersey shore.
Bill was an active member and respected Elder of the Blawenburg Church in Montgomery Township. He was passionate about his volunteer work on behalf of the Crawford House, a halfway home for women recovering from alcohol and drug addiction.
Bill owned Seasons Real Estate of NJ in Dayton, and was a principal of Dallenbach Sand Company in Monroe Township.
He is survived by his wife, Wendy (Wolff) Herbert; daughter Kelly Herbert of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, son Will Herbert of Skillman, and son Brad Mumaw and his wife Jennifer and grandson Ezra, of Vacaville, California; his brother Harold D. Herbert and wife Carol Herbert of Point Pleasant; and his sister Joan Whitman of Milltown. He is predeceased by his daughter Ami Herbert, and his parents, Harold L. Herbert and Edith Herbert.
A Memorial Service will be held Saturday, June 23rd at 10 o’clock in the morning at Blawenburg Church, 424 Route 518, Montgomery Township, New Jersey 08504. Memorial contributions may be made in Bill’s honor to the Blawenburg Church.
