Joseph G. Visokay, of Milltown, passed away Thursday, July 25, 2013, at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in New Brunswick . He was 77.
Born in Milltown, he lived here all of his life.
Before retiring he was a mechanic for Barclay Brand in Union.
He was a vestry man at the former All Saints Episcopal Church in Highland Park. He was an Exempt Fireman with the Milltown Fire Department. Joe also coached for the Crabiel Team for Milltown’s Little League Baseball and was assistant coach for the Our Lady of Lourdes Falcons Basketball Team.
He was a fan and a friend of Willie Nelson and avid Rutgers Ladies Knights fan.
Joe is predeceased by his parents John and Helen (Dunch) Visokay, and his sisters Margaret Thornton, Vilma Veros and Helen Wojciak.
Surviving is his wife Janet (Beecher) Visokay; his daughter Sheryl Lynne Visokay and her companion Joseph Sandar; his grandson Trevor Joseph Visokay; his brothers John, William and Andrew – all of Milltown; his sister Betty Ann Parillo of California; many nieces and nephews, and his two cats Freeda and Sam.
Services will be Monday, July 29th, 11:00 am, at The Crabiel Home for Funerals, 170 N Main St – at Riva Avenue, Milltown. Burial will follow at Van Liew Cemetery in North Brunswick. Friends and relatives may call on Sunday, from 3:00- 7:00 pm at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the either the Milltown Fire Department or the Milltown Rescue Squad.
